Welcome to the Sgt. D.P. Land Memorial Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Located in Cumming, GA the Sgt. D.P. Land Memorial Lodge is composed of local, state and federal law enforcement officers residing in or around Forsyth County.  We are a fraternal organization that provides camaraderie and support to our brothers and sisters in the law enforcement community. The Lodge also provides emotional and financial support to sick and injured members and plays an active roll in making our community a better place through various community outreach programs.

Some of our community efforts include contributing to the Activity Fund of the Cumming Nursing Center, providing Christmas gifts for residents of The Abba House, the FOP’s Annual Shop with a Cop and much more.

Our Lodge has successfully created an Injured Officer's Fund, which provides financial support to brothers and sisters in need due to illness and injury both on and off the job.

Nothing we do would be remotely possible without the financial support of our community. We urge everyone that can to make a contribution to allow us to continue to help not only local officers but the community as well.

Sergeant Land was killed in a motorcycle accident while responding to a fight call, involving two motorists on the side of a highway, at approximately 1600 hours.

His police motorcycle collided with two vehicles on Highway 20 just east of Georgia 400.

Sergeant Land had been promoted to the rank of sergeant only two days earlier. He had been with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office for five years, and had been in law enforcement for a total of 12 years. He is survived by his wife and 6-year-old daughter.
